MG 1.1 Lock comments on an image

We've got a potential argument brewing in the comments of an image. I don't want to delete the image, but how do I lock it to prevent further comments being made?

There is no way, unfortunately.

You could deny the people being argumentative the permission to use comments.

Darn. Doing that would prevent them from accessing the rest though. Maybe a feature for the future? Or having a discussion topic like resources that becomes something we can moderate more fully.

You could also deny the "Bypass moderation queue when posting a comment" permission.

This would, again, affect all comments, but at least allow you to allow/reject comments via the moderation queue.
