My site is available. I only have 3 blog entries but am otherwise available as needed. You can view the blog on my site to see if it meets your needs.

I worked with the blog a bit more today and found a very minor bug, and I wish to pass along one suggestion.

Minor bug - when I copied a large forum post and pasted it into a new blog entry the vertical scroll bar does not appear. It will appear if I press <ENTER> to create a new line.

Suggestion - the Recent Blogs block which appears in the forum side bar, create a setting to control how many entries it shows.

As mentioned, I am launching a new site and would be willing to help with the testing! (and have a technical background to work through the debugging)

That's actually how the default XenForo editor works as far as I know; I don't do anything more than call it and pass information through it.

That setting will be in Beta 3.

Are there anyone with more than say... 10 entries and maybe 20 comments more, spread amongst several users? The reason why I'm asking is that I need to make sure some of the new features that affect them directly work, and that the upgrade that makes changes to several tables work as well. While I see it works fine locally I want to be able to have a bit more data to work with to be sure.

You mentioned earlier in this thread that you would put a feature/tool into the new version that would allow us to reimport our old vBBlogs from the hidden forums back into the perspective users' blogs. I hope this is still planned for B3. If you need help testing the importer...you can use me.

I've got the Blogs installed but permissions are set so that users cannot see them. Nor can they see the old blogs that were imported over. This will remain that way until I have some sort of importer tool to bring the old blog entries back.

It won't be in Beta 3, that's for sure. That is something I'm going deal with right after Beta 3 is released as a separate script, and then inject it into Beta 4.

Right now I'm focused on Beta 3 upgrading/installs by itself as that tool is a little more involved and haven't had time to work on it yet, and I don't want to delay the release any longer than I already have.

If there was some way I could move them over into each individuals blogs...even manually, one at a time...I would do it. But this far, I've not been able to figure out a way to be logged in as another user and access the old blogs that are now posts in a hidden forum.

So, looks like I will have to wait for the script. Thanks for all the work you are doing on this!

Still, if you need access to my forums to create the script, just let me know.

I will likely need your data for the script, probably shortly after beta 3 is released. The only way right now would be to do it through the database, but if there are attachments (at least in the first post) they will be lost. Plus I don't recommend running through the database to do so, especially with how many other tables are affected when you deal with threads/posts.

However, one thing at a time! ;) I do apologize in making you wait as I know you need it, but the code really needed to be able to handle it properly.

I want to display news posts on the main page of my website or index page. Something similar to this.
Along with other information? Might be better if you had a portal instead.

While you can probably show the blog as your home page, or even a particular user's blog (yours for example), I'm assuming you're going to want other information to display if you want to make a home page.

The blog doesn't allow HTML either, but it does do BBcode.

It is possible to make the blog the home page, or probably even make a particular user's blog the homepage, but you'd need to install another add-on in order to do so as it's not built-in functionality.
