Fixed left conversations still appear in conversation list

I send out a weekly conversation to new registrants of my forum, letting them know about a book I am selling. Previously in XF1, as long as I checked the 'leave this conversation and receive future messages' the message wouldn't show up in my inbox.

in XF2, all those conversations i've 'left' appear in my inbox:



and flood my inbox drop down menu:



after starting a customer support ticket, it has been confirmed that this is a bug and i was told to post this here. hopefully it gets solved soon.
