[Job] php / IPB / golf experience needed.

While on this topic ...
Why does this IPB forum feel so slow ?
http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/
- try the scrollbar ... it doesn't scroll smooth. Too many images ?
- the whole site seems slow to me (and I don't like it because I love the content)
Capture.webpCapture-2.webp
With XenForo:
Capture-3.webp

Why is the scrollbar so choppy ?
When I drag ... it's not smooth at all. (latest Chrome on windows).
Maybe I am used to Xenforo's smoothness.

too much stuff fixed to the viewport (background, bar at bottom)

Amazingly firefox seems to handle it better than chrome, used to be firefox was the one that slowed to an absolute crawl

Chrome doesn't handle images too well, I've found, especially high resolution images.

Not sure if this position got filled.
Certainly the website is slower than ever !
If you applied and didn't get the job ... you might want to re-apply !
FYI, I know nothing about the job.
Is the slowness "all because of the ads" ?

The golf knowledge at this site is incredible. But the site slowness is horrible.
Before I just tell them "switch to xenforo" :) .... any performance suggestions ?

Loading it in FF is not too bad, not brilliant though. But Chrome is really bad loading that page up. Opera isn't too far off same as FF. It is slow though, but Chrome is chronic for browsing that site. Small banner images appear to self hosted, so that's not causing a delay in being pulled from another external site. Not sure what seems to be causing it their.

Bad host maybe?

That page loads aok for me, on firefox and IE.

If I can offer a tip though? lower the amount of threads displayed per forum.

Seems like an awfully long page.

Are they/you running Xache or memcache?
