Is there away to show Category but not posts?

Is there away to show Category but not posts?
I think its a node permissions thing.

I want guest to see the Category, but not whats inside. Also is there
a way to show it as locked?

I hate when people click and it says must be a members to do that, would be nice if there
was away to show it was "locked". I think VB had some kinda option or mod like that.

Nope Mod installed but does not work properly, so still need a fix please.

Revoke the View threads by others and Post new thread permissions for the category.

Make sure that View Node is set to Inherit for the forums (and of course set to Allow for the user group).

Not sure I followed that part. (View Node is set to Inherit for the forums ?) Oddly I couldn't find this in the help section as its should be
a simple point and click idea, since its an option. I can get everything set. However it either shows
and is open to be posted by anyone. or is hidden and no one sees it. Do I have to create a group that can only see that thread?
Is that the idea behind this ? But I need it seen and not active to everyone .

Sorry I meant in the Node permission set View Node to Inherit. This will mean that the node can be seen.

Then as Brogan says, revoke the View threads by others and Post new thread permissions for the category.
