XF 2.3 Is there a way to stop the shutting down of accounts with bounced to email addresses?

I'm having a deal with two or three longtime users whose email addresses are being bounced. I don't really care whether their email address no longer works.

You probably have found there is no whitelist for a specific bounced email in Xenforo (as far as I have found).
Is your handler automatic? Automatic is either on or off for all users. To make it a manual bounce handler go to Setup > Options > Email options > Bounced email address: and clear that field. Then the handler will use the default email for bounced email review. You also need to disable Enable automated bounce handling:
To make it so that no bounced emails are sent just use a dummy email in the Bounced email address field, however that can cause problems depending on how many are actually bounced.

Most modern day emails have a +name option

On my forum I have an email address that goes directly to a monitored folder.

catch@myforum.com

I simply remove the bounced email address from the users profile and add catch+user@myforum.com as the email.

Additionally I turn of all the users email notifications so it keeps things manageable and I can tell if they tried to login because it will show in my catch file.
