Please consider adding an iPhone app so a user can quickly read a forum using your software. There are other apps out there, but often require forum owner to add code...

Would be great to have this right at the launch.

Just a reminder for those that may not know... There's an entire project focusing on building jQuery mobile UI elements to make developing jQuery based interfaces for the vast majority of mobile platforms a snap. Take a look at http://jquerymobile.com/ for details, it looks like end result will allow the creation of a mobile skin for XF, that looks AND acts like an app! Best of both worlds... ;)

Indeed. I love the 'extra' functionality that comes with dedicated Apps. And I would prefer that my future XenForo powered site is visible on any mobile phone instead of only the iPhone for example. I am curious what XenForo will come up with.

Kier and Mike have stated several times that they have plans for a specific mobile style but not an app as such.

Well until people hear firm details people will keep asking ;)
I personally think that a good mobile skin for XenForo would have significantly more value than an iPhone app at this point.

Not that XenForo renders badly on mobile devices, on the contrary it renders very well (see here) but many of the UI elements are not designed for touch interaction, and therefore may be expecting hover operations or may be too small to effectively click without zooming in.

I have plans and designs for a mobile skin, though I can't say when it will debut at this point.

Well...just so people know... I've decided to re-work the XFStop Mobile Style :)

jqmobile.webp

I'll be working on it over the next couple weeks. It's utilizing the jquery mobile framework, so we'll see what we can do with it.
