XF 2.1 IPB 3.4.8 to IPB 4.8 to XF 2.18 - passwords dont work

Hi there,

I tried to import an IP Board 3.4.8 but there is no importer available. So I upgraded to IP Board 4.4 and started the import to XF2.1.8.

There are 2 bugs... the special chars in thread titles are broken and the bbcode for quotes doesn't work properly.

The passwords were not imported correctly and users cannot log in. Maybe the charset is a problem?

The collationof the source db is utf8mb4_unicode_ci and the source tables are in utf8mb4_unicode_ci.

Every row in the table xf_user_authenticate are set to XF:IpsForums4x correctly.

The members_pass_hash and members_pass_salt in IPB3 and IPB4 are the same and of course are set correctly in xf_user_authenticate/data.

Does anyone have the problem?

I found the problem.

In the table xf_user_authenticate you have to change the schema from XF:IpsForums4x to XF:IpsForums3x .

FWIW a valid route would be IPS 3.x to XF 1.x then do a simple upgrade to XF 2.x.

I'll leave it to you to decide which is preferable but it seems you found a good workaround
