I'm actually an XF old but it's been so long I feel like a newb and could use some guidance.
Long story short: I just purchased a new license because I saw with the addition of the API / OATH2 in recent years it now appears much easier to add XF onto an existing membership based site. (with a single account sign on to access both our gated content and XF messaging)
What I need is the path of least resistance to have my own custom backend script (PHP programming is fine) register a XF user when I have a new user registration on my site, and then also log them into XF when they login to the main website on subsequent visits.
XF is running on a subdomain, so sharing cookies/sessions shouldn't (hopefully) be an issue.
I've been reading for a few hours, have XF up and running no problem, but I'm at a loss as to how to proceed at this point as far as finding the correct method (and related documentation) for setting up what I need.
Can one of you fine folks point me in the right direction?
