Install and set up before actual install

Hello,

I already have a forum running now using a different software in my web root. I'll be converting it into a read-only forum and then moving it into a folder say "archive". Before doing this, I want to install Xenforo and setup all forums/sub-forums in it. Can I install Xenforo first to a directory say "temp", set up all forums and then delete the directory (not the database), and then copy all files to root (after moving old forum to archive)? Or is there an easier way?

Yes that works. You just need to update this setting in the Admin CP after moving the files:

Admin CP -> Home -> Options -> Basic Board Information -> Board URL
