When I embed media from Other's Media (like below), does it create a copy or just link to the existing file?

And another question, when I insert or attach an image to a post, does it automatically converted to a media object, i.e. available in the gallery? If so, can I select which attached/inserted image should be added to the gallery (and hence available in Embed Media dialogue)?

Just a link to the original media item inside XenForo Media Gallery, with a nice thumbnail or inline player (for audio/video media items), more details here:

No, currently forum attachments are separate.

No, not yet possible to replace existing images. You have to delete and reupload. I also would like to see this feature..
