XF 2.3 Importing Question: How is the imported data presented on the recipient forum?

Subject to testing, we'll be importing an XF forum into our existing forum. I've got a question though, I can't find an obvious answer anywhere....

How is the imported data presented on the recipient forum? Is it in it's own subforum somewhere?

Cheers

Chris

It looks just like the existing forum content.

Note that if not handled correctly, you will not be able to properly redirect the old forum urls to their correct counterpart in forum they are imported into.

I'm sure it does look like existing forum content. But what does the user see? 100000 random posts in a mile-long list, or structured into new subforums? Or something else? Is it configurable?

The answer is:
It looks just like the existing forum content.

Eg. you will still have the same usergroups, users, categories, forums, threads, posts, attachments, etc. as in the source system (probably minus a few things not supported by the importer and / or XenForo like vBulletin post icons, vBulletin Announcements, ...)

They will see the forum sections, threads and posts, organized the same way they are in the old forum, and the new forum. Configuration options are the same as they are now. Same with user groups, DMs, etc.
