Importing from Woltlab

We don't have a native importer for Woltlab so your options are:
  • first import into software for which we do have an importer, then import into XF
  • use a third party importer, if one is available
  • pay one of the service providers to do the import

What is making you want to move from Woltlab to Xeforo? I use the core XenForo script and have found several areas that I wish that it had more ability. I've been looking at other offerings from the paid scripts (but that's limited due to what I can afford to pay) and I have serious questions why people want to move. Each has its core abilities, but if you need more than a basic forum it seems that other scripts provide more to the user? I've learned that the grass is not always greener.
WoltLab was a consideration of mine before I was offered a cheap license for XenForo ($25).

If you don't mind me interrupting here, my reason is that when we upgraded from V5.xx to V6.0 most of the plugins were no longer compatible.
Added to which, we were being asked to pay for upgrading compatible plugins which would have cost a fortune, considering we had already paid for them in previous versions.

some good information here.

that happens with xenforo.
right now the 2.3 upgrade is not able to be installed on site i am staff on due to add ons not being compatible that he needs.
i think most add on coders charge for the bigger add ons when there is a major version upgrade that takes extra work.
that is why i am looking for a package that has more built into it so i would not have to worry about that.
but i am also discovering that running a forum is a lot of work for little gain when you first start out.
