XF 1.3 importing from vb3.8

Just did this and i see that while pms seems to have been imported all convertations show 1 message and 0 reply which is useless for me and my members. its like having lost all previous pms

Assuming that the attachments were in the file system, the most likely thing is that the path to the files was incorrect (though it must have existed). The only way to resolve this is to do a fresh import unfortunately (which necessitates a reinstall of XF).
