js/xf/attachment_manager-compiled.js file, which should resolve this. You'll want to rebuild the master data and/or clear your browser cache to pick up the changes, too.Thank you - I appreciate that but I still don’t understand ?! I need a noddy guide! It's all explained here:
I've attached a patch, you'll need to unzip it and replace the enclosedjs/xf/attachment_manager-compiled.jsfile, which should resolve this. You'll want to rebuild the master data and/or clear your browser cache to pick up the changes, too.
You're over complicating things although to be fair the wording that @Jeremy P used does seem a little confusing. You simply need to replace a file on your server with the supplied file of the same name.Thank you - I appreciate that but I still don’t understand ?! I need a noddy guide!
“ unzip it and replace the enclosed js/xf/attachment_manager-compiled.js file, which”
Replace the enclosed xxxx attachment / replace it with what where?
So inside the zip file is an attachment that needs replacing with something somewhere?
Can I ask why, 3 and a half months after it was fixed, the known issue has not been resolved for others who have not yet moved to 2.3.7? Surely it is a 2 second job for you guys to replace the file. It’s not in the current download.
It might not be rocket science but one of the advantages of using Xenforo is the ease of use and upgrades. When I first started my forum I knew nada about the tech side - I’ve learned a bit along the way but I also knew nada about servers as well. I just wanted to run a forum and keep it as simple as possible! It would certainly take more than literally 2 seconds, but yeah - shouldn't take long and it IMHO would have been smart to just release 3.7.1 Patch 1 as this issue was discovered only a few dayes after release and significantly effects everybody (who either has image optimization or max widt / height enabled).
A patch is available though and applying this isn't really rocket science so it shouldn't be the end of the day that it must be applied manually.
How did those people install the self hosted version of XenForo than if uploading a single file to the server is beyond their technical knowledge as installing XenForo requires creating a database and uploading a dozen files? For some people it would be beyond technical knowledge or expertise.
I don't know if there ever will be a 2.8.Any idea how long before 2.8 will be available?
I had to do the same thing mate.I meant 2.3.8
Well in my case I hadn't a clue how to upload it and was talked through it by the server and a bit of help from the xenforo teamHowever it is quite straightforward to upload and get up and running.
And some members of this forum are very helpful if technical help is needed. So I'm probably perfectly capable of doing the patch - now it's been explained, but it's more the principle that we shouldn't have to. And there may be some who also aren't that technically minded or have to pay for help.
