Implemented Image and Media gallery must be INTEGRATED

Image and video gallery that is actually INTEGRATED with the forums. ALL images and video that has been uploaded should categorizable, searchable and should be EASILY organized and reused by the member. Take a look at http://www.plupload.com/ for an upload system that resizes the image ON THE WORKSTATION. This is huge, as most people don't have a clue how to resize an image and get frustrated when their 5 MB image takes forever to upload.

A fully integrated image gallery would be nice. Photoposts integration is very limited and even the upcoming PP8 is based upon outdated tech, while XF's image viewer in threads is awesome. XF attachment system allows for expansion into a novel image gallery. I really hope that this will become a reality. It would make the XF platform even more attractive...

I gave up on PhotoPost's integration with XenForo. It is far from what I would call production ready. Looking forward to a native application (be it in the core or an addon) that brings a Gallery to XenForo which I believe is much needed by many.

Correct, i am running a beta version of 8 with xF and it is still a few years behind in most areas. :(

I agree, this is the ONLY feature I'm really missing and the reason I haven't upgraded to Xenforo yet, please please pleas....let's have this feature.

There is an albums add-on. I wouldn't count on getting albums in the core software.http://xenforo.com/community/threads/xfr-user-albums.14033/ Pepelac has promised an importer from vB albums in a future version.

wii: You do know about User Albums ? (As Peggy suggested above).
I don't think User Albums will ever be a part of Xenforo's core.

Sorry to hear that the photopost script doesn't integrate well with xen. That's the one I use on another (vb) site. The tech support over at photopost leaves much to be desired, too, so I would love it if this software had a gallery.

I'm not sorry, I once used PhotoPost - Ekkk!!!

I sure hope it never becomes the official XenForo Gallery add-on.

Since the attachments routines are built, I was wondering if is possible to implement a gallery system into user profile. Personally, I would like to add pictures split into categories, visible by other members in my profile. With jQuery we can do all kind of beautiful things, like Facebook does.

The Recent Activity should also show the pictures attached by members.

Hi all, I am new to Xenforo and haven't upgraded yet as there is one limiting factory and that is a -

"Photo Gallery"

Even just a basic photo gallery so users can upload photos and share them across the forum in posts etc.

Really hoping something like this can be implemented as it seems to be called out for as a supported mod by allot of people and money has been thrown all over the place to develop a mod for it but its not completely released yet.

Just a FYI:

Although a roadmap may not be forthcoming, I agree that it would be helpful to know if a Gallery/CMS is going to be on the cards at some point

While I'm never going to rule it out completely, it's not something we're considering now. There are still various things to focus on with the core system, as I'm sure various people can attest to. (For reference, the RM mostly came about as it was something that we would've been doing anyway, for xf.com.)
It's an important statement, because it makes it clear to me that I am unable to choose XenForo to power my social platform.
I think User Albums are a typical and important asset to social networks (look at Facebook and the likes). Ofcourse, when you run your own social platform then your goals maybe different, but I would think that many vBulletin owners are eagerly awaiting switching to Xenforo, but are -still- holding off because it lacks functionality like this at the moment.

I know, words are often too much weighted (or interpreted differently than intended) especially when it comes to eagerly wished functionality (I guess that's partly why it's difficult to make any statements/promises or an official roadmap) and it has been stated clearly multiple times from the beginning that User Albums (or even a Gallery) are not considered for now.

The comment here gave a bit more hope of seeing User Albums appear in our preferred Xenforo:

While I'm sure there will be a XenForo gallery / album solution eventually, it's not on our roadmap right now.

Thank you for the merging. FYI: this thread (10 likes) was merged with (21 likes) this one. Would it be fair to say that this accumulates into 31 likes? ;)

(It raises the point that first-posting likes are not representative anymore the moment 2 threads are merged)

The problem with a lot of the early suggestions (July/August 2010) is they weren't merged at the time, so we ended up with the situation where comments and likes were spread across multiple threads.

The worst case I found was about 12 threads all for the same suggestion.

By media center I mean a gallery which can do both photos and videos. Why limit ourselves to just a photo gallery?

It would be nice to have both in 1 single package officially supported by, XenForo.

Bonus would be if it could also support music (but that would be a bonus).
