I wouldn't worry about feeling bad about picking a phone and then liking another later when it comes out. Always happens.

Enjoy what you got now until your renew cycle comes up. By then I'm sure some newer models will be out to pick from.

Oh my renew cycle is up this week. Which is why I was at Sprint.

Why is Epic out of the question? I could go with the Evo Shift, but the slideout keyboard is smaller.

Ok, I took the plunge. I cancelled my contract with AT&T, being billed the early penalty, and defected over to Sprint for the HTC Evo Shift.
The HTC seems to have quite a learning curve, but I DO love the slide out keyboard. Been using it already!

The HTC seems to have quite a learning curve, but I DO love the slide out keyboard. Been using it already!

That's why I'm siding with the Shift over the EVO...not a huge fan of touchscreen keyboards. Let me know what you think as you keep using it, since I'm up to upgrade soon.

I started out with Nokia years ago... that was my very first cell phone. I dunno, they just seem "old school" now.

Booo!!! Evo shift . Evo is great once it is rooted. As non-rooted battery life it around 3 hours of use. 5 in sleep. The one I got a use a different kernel and get 5 hours full internet. 7 hours call and text. 21 hours in sleep

Well, I gave it a go. All of about 24 hours. I do NOT like this phone at all. Perhaps other android-powered phoned are different, but other than the slide-out keyboard, the rest of the phone sucked. Very short battery life is at the top of the list, but I dislike it for a few other reasons as well.

Perhaps I was too in love with my iPhone. Must be, because today I went back to AT&T and my iPhone. They simply reinstated my original contract, no penalties, and I'm still due for a phone upgrade in 30 or so days, when I will get my iPhone 4.

Sprint promised me a full refund with a small penalty, which I'll gladly pay.

I'm happy now. aaahhhhhh....

You have to pay for most apps in the Android market (and they ain't cheap), as opposed to many of the same apps are free for the iPhone at iTunes.
There are wayyyy more "clicks" to get to things like apps, voicemail, even just to make a call.

There is a fairly steep learning curve on the Evo, whether it's the regular Evo or the Slide which I had.
And speaking of battery life... I had to charge the thing TWICE! Once when I went to bed (so overnight which is usual), then again in the early afternoon. Apparently I talk to much?

When my iPhone was reactivated late this afternoon, it was like coming home.. sounds strange I know. But man am I happy I did.

All the apps I mainly use are free. So I don't know what your purchasing. As for battery life if you root the phone no problems with battery life. I only charge mine once a day and get a full days use.
