How to temporarily disable ElasticSearch on server?

I have ES installed on our VPS but not configured on XF yet.

It keeps spiking & slowing our sites right down.

I've reported it to the service who installed it but while I'm waiting on a response is there a way I can temporarily disable it. We have a forum migration booked today & I don't want load spikes interrupting that process.

I'm a noob but I have access to the server & our hosts may be able to help if it's above my head.

service elasticsearch stop

You can uncheck Enable Elasticsearch in the options or even disable search altogether.
