How do you manage cryptopayments on your forum?

I wonder if both of these statements is 100% correct :)

People can always request.

Administrators don't allow it or use simply a wallet and do the procedures manually.

By the way, @Max Fridman, I also have add-ons that allow you to accept Bitcoin and Litecoin on your server without the participation of third parties)

I will consider them.

I was looking from feedback from other forum administrators, this thread is discussing crypto from an asset perspective not from an utility to get paid and get out of it.

Don't believe item 5 is correct. Here are several articles regarding cryptocurrency fraud losses.
Yes, and all these funds were stolen due to the stupidity of users who themselves transferred their funds to scammers) This does not reflect the essence in any way: no one can steal your crypto without your help)

By the way, I forgot that I am also a forum administrator and I accept payment in cryptocurrency. Demand, in fact, is much less than on PayPal, but it is also there and is part of my sales. Most of the bitcoin I save in anticipation of halving.

Agreed, crypto is here to stay, it is quickly becoming a secondary currency in most countries and primary in some.
With ETF vehicles now on most stock markets legitimized crypto for the foreseeable future.

Offering users ability to pay with crypto only makes sense.

we use nowpayments.io integration for that service and it's been working well.

Has there been any updates on this? What did Ozzy decide to do with the add-on he wrote. and @vape.to: is it still working with latest Xenforo updates? Would be great to hear your experience on this.

addon is working perfectly, users use it almost daily, not a single glitch since installation.

Thanks. Tagging @Ozzy47 in hopes he can provide an update if this will be made publicly available, or can comment as to its status.

I remember there was some Bitcoin add-ons 5 years ago but they used websites api made by corporations. So the crypto went through their websites.

The problem with using add-ons that are made by corporations such as coinbase, bitpay, coinpayments is that they have TOS and if you break those TOS they will ban you. It's no different that paypal or stripe. Crypto is about bypassing these companies.

Use the software BTCPAY server. It's open source, installed & controlled by you so there is no TOS. It completely bypasses the traditional crypto payment processors. You are in control of your own crypto.

The BTCPAY Server team has a xenforo add-on.

The only issue with BTCPAY Server you need to install the BTCPAY Server software and is it is not for beginners.
I installed it. It wasn't so hard but requires linux CLI knowledge. You could always use someone else's BTCPAY Server but i would install your own so you are in control of everything.

If you are making a little bit of money on your forum stick to paypal but if you are making big money use crypto.

BTCPAY Server is just for crypto not traditional money. It's the future. Stripe & paypal will eventually go byebye

Great info, thank you so much. I'm not really comfortable running a server for this purpose... wish there were an easier way to get that type of server up and running, fully hosted somewhere. I'm sure i could configure it appropriately, but not install it and maintain it properly.
