How do you handle high bounce rates?

We are sending out newsletters every week and there is a high amount of bounce rate (around 20%). We need to find a proper solution to this, and we also started manually disabling the user's email preferences. But that takes a lot of time. Have any of you faced the same issue? If so, how did you fix it?

Note: we do not have any IMAP or POP3 server right now, but if that is the solution, let be it. Please help me with the problem. Thank you

this thread had some discussion on this topic. using an external service without cleaning your email database would not be a good idea. you would probably get suspended with 20% bounce rate sooner than later.

Another option is perhaps to look at Dragonbyte mail. It would allow you to meter your mail (slow the send rate) so the bounces may not be as harmful. I also believe that there is a validation to suspend users with bad addresses.
