I recommend xf cloud only because of the fact the staff do all the upgrades for you.

I'll get laughed at here i'm with Namecheap's steller hosting.
It has a cpanel that you'll love.
Even has some free options for you in it

Yep - I've moved to KnownHost. Because I didn't have cpanel there was a 1 hour service charge for the migration but it went smoothly and things are snappy and updated.

I tried the DIY but it was becoming more work than I have time for and the traffic hitting the site would likely have caused issues with my service at home.

You won't be disappointed. I've been with Knownhost since 2013 and have never thought twice. I've used everything from their shared hosting to their Pro VPS and never had an issue with any of them. Add to that the fact that their customer service is second to none and you've got a great host!

I've stuck with Homepage Universe but it has been having more problems as of late -- and I'm hard down right now with no way to get a hold of them as you can't even leave a message on their 800 number.

I'm on the Standard Shared hosting plan. A 3-year plan is like $6.50 a month and a 1-year plan is $9.50 or so. They're all a bit different since I signed on years ago, but I'm paying $84 a year for mine.

I'm up to their Professional VPS now, but I started with a basic VPS. I've also used their shared hosting on smaller projects before. Never had an issue with any of their services and the customer support is second to none.

Will known host be able to migrate from xenforo cloud or do they basically trap your site here?

I operated my own rack servers in colocation, would have been ten years this October, but I've had too many outages with xenforo cloud and am trying to figure out how to leave. Four times in two days with nobody responding for hours isn't acceptable in the web hosting world.
