Currently clicking on the main logo or the Forums tab has the same effect: taking users to myforumdomain.com and displaying the same page.

How can I set my homepage to resolve to myforumdomain.com, and my Forums page to resolve to myforumdomain.com/forums?

XF is installed in the domain root so it is functioning correctly.

If you want to have a home page, you will either need an add-on or use a page node in XF, or move XF to the /forums directory and use a standalone page.

Ok that makes sense.

Can I just route the root domain to one template, and the /forums url to another?

I'd like the root domain to display "forum_new_posts", and the url rootdomain.com/forums to display the "forum_list" template (as it does now), both from Forum.php. Is this somewhat more straight-forward than creating a new page?

Try changing the Index page route under the Basic board information options.

That may give you the result you're looking for.

Changing the index page route does set the forums list to render under domain.com/forums which is a step in the right direction. I'm using this is the index page route: forums/-/new-posts, and now the homepage url is mydomain.com/whats-new/posts/735/

Is there some way to display this page but have the index page url still show as mydomain.com?

Also what does the 735 represent here? I notice it increases over time.
