XF 2.2 Hiding members content from search engines

To protect our members content from being accessed on a certain forum (debating politics), I'm thinking of hiding that specific forum/thread from search engines.

Am I understanding correctly?


- If I lock access to certain forums for certain users, Google will not mind. But if I lock access to the same forums to unregistered/guests visitors, Google would mind?

- Can I hide a thread from search engines?

Google doesn't care whether content is visible or not.

Restrict the forum to guests and only logged in members can access it.

Do you mean that even restricted content can be revealed on search engines search results?

Search engines have the same permissions as guests.

If guests can't view the content then neither can search engines and it can't be indexed.
