Can ya tell I'm stressed?

ALl of a sudden this evening, our site started messing up. There are no controls on the wysiwyg editor, many posts have the html tags in them (i.e. <p>, </p>, etc), the moderator controls are visible (you are supposed to have to click on the little box to see them), and a few other things.

Our board is HAUNTED, I tell ya!

in the filter, type javas
look at any bolded (nondefault) entries and determine whether they should be that way or not.

Edit: Cleared cache and it's OK.
So what does that mean?

Yes. The last beta version gave us weird problems too.

I have 2 other forums on the same server and haven't noticed any problems.

interesting ... I just had a minor panic attack with my forum, at almost exactly the same time that Peggy posted this.

odd? .. I chased my tail for a while (thinking: bugger I have backed up since last night) then it came right.
very strange indeed .. needless to say, I have backed up now

If it's happening to several different members again then I can only suggest uploading the files once more.
It doesn't really make much sense as to why it would work for a period of time and then start malfunctioning though.

Download the full install and upload everything except /data and /internal_data ?

I have custom stuff in /styles/default/jrt
It's not going to ask me to upgrade, will it?

I can also confirm that not only did the inbuilt js not load ( http://www.fps.net.nz/community/js/jquery/jquery.xenforo.rollup.js?_v=a685418c )
but neither did my additional, manually added one ( http://www.fps.net.nz/steamprofile/steamprofile.js )

go figure .. but I CAN confirm, that I am root on this server (not a dodgy shared host) and I run a couple of other sites on it ( http://mandrivausers.org , http://www.loudas.com , and http://www.mageiausers.org ) none of which didn't hiccup.

in a panic I used every browser available to mankind :|
but now that you mention it, I think exploiter was ok

I was panicking a bit so I can't properly remember

I only use FF and IE. Mine was perfect in IE and really screwed up in FF, til I rebooted and cleared the cache. Went back to normal then.

A lot of the time.. clearing cache and then refresh two or three times on FF usually forces new data in for me after cache data problems. Also for some reasons I have much less issues when using PB mode on FF. No guarantees but hey try em out.

If it was browser based than that fact may be irrelevant as much as it goes against normal logic. After I changed a bunch of stuff (I say that loosely so you can imaging the damage I did.) I re-upped the files I messed with and did a

• Tools > Rebuild Caches > Rebuild Forum Information

Then a quick cache clear and refresh of my browser revealed my solution. Couldn't hurt to try right?
