website speed is a minor ranking factor that is mostly relative to your serp competitors. Unless you're in the red for page speed insights, don't worry about itnow ads is removed for guest, why performance keeps being low?

I'm yet to see (& confirm) Google penalize a website for using their own ads(ense).
Though rankings in general is a black box with both the input (your and other sites) and output (ranking algorithm) always changing, on a daily basis often, so it is hard to draw any certain conclusions.
What I could notice is Google pushing the big corporate stuff (YouTube, Reddit, Forbes etc.), and crushing the small independent sites.

Our forum is 23 years old. Adsense has been there forever, and we are doing very well.
At the beginning of the 2000s the competition was less fierce, and the Google algorithm less demanding... But times have changed, I'm not saying that Adsense will penalize your site to the point that it disappears from the SERPs but it's worth it to evaluate the benefit/loss cost of its use.
Many sites/forums display Adsense advertising for a minimal or even ridiculous audience, they can earn astronomical sums of up to $3 per month!! Frankly, you might as well do without it and obtain a higher CWV score, the administrator will be a winner.
This is not necessarily the case here, the site is known and has a decent audience so the financial loss of stopping advertising would be damaging I suppose...

Times have changed, and our forum makes more money and has more traffic than ever. People can get overly obsessed with "scores". What I am telling you is that our site has record revenue this year and is running AdSense. It makes no sense why Google would add something to the algorithm that penalizes one of its critical revenue streams.
It's called wisdom my friend. Our experience is that Adsense has had no negative impact whatsoever on our traffic or revenue.

You can't say that what works for your forum works for a forum created a few months ago or even 2 or 3 years ago. When you launched your forum in 2021 the conditions were not the same, your success is most certainly due to your hard work but also to the favorable conditions of the 2000s...
Start from scratch today and you will see that you will care of the impact of Google Adsense on your CWV.

And you are still with Adsense? Do you know about ads agency? You can triple your revenues if you get banners from one of them

I’ve also never seen nor heard of Google penalizing any site that uses AdSense.
Google and Reddit have a deal, so that could be why.
