XF 2.1 group promtions..?

Some users have this...




while other users of the forum just have 1 group?

its really hard to suss what is going wrong here?...

why is it applying all and not just the "top" most group?


there are only 2 people on the entire forum have have this, and have recently come back.. struggling to find the link thats causing it =-/

only problem I seem to get is it doesn't work for some people? even if I rebuild the cache and manually remove the promotion that they got.

Manually adding and removing people to user groups overrides the user group promotions (from my experience). So they will remain in a group if they no longer meet the criteria (or won't be added to a group if they were manually removed and later meet the criteria). The only way I found to resolve this was to create new groups for the user group promotions and delete the old groups, then the user group promotions worked correctly for everyone.

I've not added anyone to a group, I just removed the promotion via the option hoping that when it reapplied it, it would remove the previous one, but some just don't want to be removed, I guess because the promotion system didn't apply them? the forums be g oing on for years and was previously on vb before making the move over to xenforo..


this is why I rebuilt the usergroup promotion cache, it seems to have worked, and gone through everyone on the forums, added those who aren't even active any more etc up the list, but some people are still stuck with 2 tags even though the system has given them one of them... seems like a major flaw more than anything? or is it a bug? the software should be able to detect it has X group and Y group, so should removed X when Y is attached to a user.
