I’m running XenForo 2.3.7 and originally used the PayPal Legacy payment profile for user subscriptions. Because XenForo is now flagging that option as deprecated, I’ve switched all my User Upgrades so they now use the new PayPal payment profile.
I have two questions:
1. Handling renewals from users who originally subscribed through PayPal Legacy
I’ve updated all User Upgrades so they now only use the new PayPal payment profile.
Do I need to do anything else to ensure that renewals happen through the new system?
More specifically:
2. User group changes when someone subscribes
Our forum content is restricted based on user groups:
If anyone can confirm the correct handling of legacy PayPal renewals and the recommended user-group setup for subscriptions in XF 2.3.7, I’d appreciate it!

More specifically:
- If a user originally subscribed through PayPal Legacy with auto-renew enabled, will their renewal still be processed through the old PayPal billing agreement?
- Do I need to cancel anything in my PayPal account to prevent Legacy-based auto-renewals from continuing?

Our forum content is restricted based on user groups:
- Paying members should be placed in the RVOC Subscriber group
- Non-subscribers (after their trial period ends) should fall into the Lurker Group, which has limited access
- They are automatically added to the RVOC Subscriber group, and
- They are removed from (or no longer affected by) the Lurker Group?
