I want to set up a google calendar that allows anyone who has the URL to add an event. However, I can only see the option to share to specific email addresses. Any advice?

It is not possible for someone with just the Calendar URL to edit a Google Calendar. They must be signed into Google and be granted permission to edit it.

However there is a 3rd party that offers some sort of interface to allow others to add events to your calendar- I haven't looked at it in detail but I was trying the same thing several months ago before figuring out it just wasn't going to happen with Google alone.

https://ga.youcanbook.me/ - I have not used it yet.

If it's for your forum, you can do this with www.ifttt.com

1. Create an IFTTT account.

2. Connect the google calendar you created to the Google Calendar Channel to your IFTTT account. https://ifttt.com/google_calendar

3. Create a subforum called events or use your existing events forum RSS feed. (For example, Xenforo's RSS for Have You Seen: https://xenforo.com/community/forums/have-you-seen/index.rss ) and use that to create a RSS to Google Calendar recipe.

Now any thread they create in the events forum will show up in your google calendar you created. You can embed that calendar anywhere, including your website using Xenforo's pages.
