URGENT: Froala License Compliance
Hello,

Froala would like to thank you for continuing to be a valuable and loyal member of our community. As a regular practice, we ask customers to confirm that they are in compliance with licensing requirements and that they ensure all projects/products/domains using Froala Editor are duly licensed.

Of note, we have detected your site to be using Froala Editor however we have no records of a license for your company. Commercial usage of Froala requires a license to be purchased from Froala to be in compliance with our End User License Agreement.

If you’re using Froala in a SaaS app, mobile app, or Intranet app, please purchase a license at https://store.froala.com/buy-now/wysiwyg-editor/pro-license and confirm with us after this has been completed.

We’re looking to open a dialog to better understand your use and assure proper licensing. We would appreciate you facilitating a discussion by setting a time for a call with the appropriate party.

Froala is committed to a close relationship with our community and our customers. We look forward to hearing back from you promptly. Thank you for your time and attention.

Best regards,

They would appear to be incorrect on the basis that we have purchased various licenses from them and have full licensing to use Froala within XenForo. Unfortunately, they seem to have some confusion internally about our licenses, which appears to have happened sometime after the original company was purchased.

Assuming you're not using Froala anywhere outside of XenForo, it would likely be best to let them know that you're using it within XF and that if they have any questions surrounding licensing, they should contact us directly.

I mean, I have to assume that XF and software like XF such as SaaS/distributed software/etc is a rather large significant part of their licenses sold. So this email being sent may be calculated, and that makes me wonder...Perhaps they are hoping to secure a few extra sales from people who do not need to pay? I hope I'm not correct.

I think this issue has been resolved. When i replied like Mike suggested they replied:

Hello,

Thanks for getting back to me and for the information. We will be reaching out to XenForo as you suggested. Would you mind confirming which version of XenForo you are currently using? This could be helpful in resolving this issue with them quickly.

Thank you,

and then 1 day later

Hi,

Thank you very much for the information and helping us resolve this.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Regards,

I have received that mail as well (actually a second one with a threat about legal actions as the first went into spam), sent them this link now. I think this is highly unprofessional and unacceptable of them. Maybe you should reach out so that they won't be bothering your customers, accusing them oft illegal actions, any longer...
