XF 2.0 Friendly URLs

Hello, I'm trying to enable friendly URLs on my website. Xenforo is installed at the root file, and the .htaccess file is present. Unfortunately, when enabling the option for friendly URLs, I am getting 404 errors

My .htaccess file:
Code:
# Mod_security can interfere with uploading of content such as attachments. If you
# cannot attach files, remove the "#" from the lines below.
#<IfModule mod_security.c>
#    SecFilterEngine Off
#    SecFilterScanPOST Off
#</IfModule>

ErrorDocument 401 default
ErrorDocument 403 default
ErrorDocument 404 default
ErrorDocument 405 default
ErrorDocument 406 default
ErrorDocument 500 default
ErrorDocument 501 default
ErrorDocument 503 default

<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On

    # If you are having problems with the rewrite rules, remove the "#" from the
    # line that begins "RewriteBase" below. You will also have to change the path
    # of the rewrite to reflect the path to your XenForo installation.
    RewriteBase /

    # This line may be needed to workaround HTTP Basic auth issues when using PHP as a CGI.
    #RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization}]

    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -l [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
    RewriteRule ^.*$ - [NC,L]
    RewriteRule ^(data/|js/|styles/|install/|favicon\.ico|crossdomain\.xml|robots\.txt) - [NC,L]
    RewriteRule ^.*$ index.php [NC,L]
</IfModule>

I have enabled mod_rewrite by using the command "a2en rewrite", and also restarted apache afterwards. I am at a loss for what I could be doing wrong.
Thanks in advance for any help!

.does your site run on pure Apache? Or are you also using Nginx?
Just apache. I'm an idiot for even posting this thread, I already figured it out lol. I just needed to change a line in the apache config. In case anyone finds this thread in the future and has similar problems, this is what I did.

1. Opened the file /etc/apache2/apache2.conf
2. Located this block
Code:
<Directory /var/www/>
    Options Indexes FollowSymLinks
    AllowOverride None
    Require all granted
</Directory>
3. Changed AllowOverride to "all", saved the file, then restarted apache and now it works!
