XF 1.4 Friendly URLs

Hello,

I have a quick question on this Xenforo option, following this guide:

Friendly URLs | XenForo

Do I have to edit the htaccess.txt itself? Or is renaming it all I have to do?

In most cases there should already be an .htacccess file, if not just rename htaccess.txt.

There is one on my server files, but it's hidden and has nothing in it.

If it's empty, it's not from XenForo -- the default "install" download provides one. It has the same content as htaccess.txt, so you should just be able to rename that.
