Friend Inviter [Paid] [Deleted]

Has it ever worked? And have you linked your account previously?

If so, click Unlink and then try again. It may be an expired token. That needs to be handled better at some point.

If it has never worked, does your Yahoo account actually have any contacts?

Chris - actually just checked and my Yahoo account didn't have any contacts - once added it works.

However it would be good if the plugin could gracefully handle an error like no contacts :)

Hi,

I installed this addon, with the option for the tab enabled. I can see theer friend inviter. If I click on the tab, I only see the email icon, but no Facebook, twitter or Google icon.

What do I have to do to see these icons?

Thanks

You have to obtain API keys.

There are instructions in the Admin CP > Options > Friend Inviter

You need an account or developer account at each of the sites you want to have available. The instructions beneath the options explain exactly where to go and what to do.

O.k., I have done that. I am new to Facebook. I opened an account as a person to be able to get this developper account to create the app.

But for my website, i want to have an extra FB account with no private data, only Website data. It does not make sense for the users to get linked to an FB account of Joe Smith. Or do I miss here something?

And on my wish list would be tumblr as an additional option for this add-on. As far as I heard it, is tumblr currently more "hype" then twitter etc.

No one connects to your personal account.

You just need an account to create the "app" that your users will use. They won't even need to see your page or profile.

Hi,

I am opening now accounts one after the other for all the services. I have a problem with Google at the moment. I set it up as decribed here:

http://xenforo.com/community/resources/setting-up-facebook-twitter-and-google-integration.2811/

except that for the redirect, it automatically adds "/oauth2callback" at the end of my forums url. But even without that, I get with both ways an alert, when clicking on the google icon in the forum:

Error:redirect_uri_mismatch

The redirect URI in the request: http://mydomainame/friend-inviter/google/callback did not match a registered redirect URI

What could be the reason for this?

Another issue with Facebook. If a user invites his FB friends to the forum, it displays an image and some text.

Where does the text and image come from?

In the friend inviter options in the admin cp there is text fields to supply an image and change the default text.

I only see there "Facebook Post Caption", which is also a different text and "Facebook Image" with the path "styles/default/xenforo/logo.og.png". This png is the xenforo logo. But in the FB invite, an image that a user made was shown.

I'm not sure that's even possible.
I was correct. It's not possible.
Currently the Facebook invite feature on your site isn't even working. And there were other errors even getting logged into it.

One issue, I think, is maybe your board URL is incorrect, or your URL in Facebook is incorrect.

It kept trying to redirect me to:

http://yoursite.com/index.php?friend-inviter/facebook/callback

But your URL should be:

http://yoursite.com/friend-inviter/facebook/callback

You need to find where you have configured a URL with index.php and remove that first.

But in the FB invite, an image that a user made was shown.
Have you got a link to or a screenshot of this invite?

I have checked the facebook developper settings at Facebook. There is nowhere an index.php in the url. I then checked XF-ACP under options the basic board setting and the setting from xf-facebook and from friendinviter and both do not have neither an index.php in it.

Are there any other places where this could have been hidden?

Hey Chris,

Quick question if I may, it it possible to set-up a custom URL when the users invite their friends? I'm using a referral system and I'd love to have the possibility of using your addon in conjuction with that.

I am a new customer, In Xenforo 1.3 Twitter Invitations not work for me. Anyone of you "Twitter Invitations" works properly? Thanks.
