Friend Inviter [Paid] [Deleted]

That's correct.

Thanks for your purchase.

Thanks Chris.

I've noticed a problem I'm getting with all services apart from Facebook and obviously email...

Server Error

Undefined index: id
  1. XenForo_Application::handlePhpError() in FriendInviter/ControllerPublic/FriendInviter.php at line 709
  2. FriendInviter_ControllerPublic_FriendInviter->actionTwitter() in XenForo/FrontController.php at line 310
  3. XenForo_FrontController->dispatch() in XenForo/FrontController.php at line 132
  4. XenForo_FrontController->run() in /xxx/xxx/xxx/index.php at line 13

Any ideas?

You can only get that error with Twitter :p

Can you paste the full errors from other services, too?

Sure....

Yahoo is...
Server Error

Undefined index: contact
  1. XenForo_Application::handlePhpError() in FriendInviter/Helper/Yahoo.php at line 237
  2. FriendInviter_Helper_Yahoo::parseYahooContacts() in FriendInviter/ControllerPublic/FriendInviter.php at line 387
  3. FriendInviter_ControllerPublic_FriendInviter->actionYahoo() in XenForo/FrontController.php at line 310
  4. XenForo_FrontController->dispatch() in XenForo/FrontController.php at line 132
  5. XenForo_FrontController->run() in /xxx/xxx/xxx/index.php at line 13

And I've realized that I get an error on Google because I don't actually have any contacts on there yet :p

Thanks for this.

With Twitter do you have no followers but following someone? Or followers but not following anyone?

I think I've just replicated the fault so I can release a fix for that shortly.

I will look into Yahoo and Google... you should get friendly messages if you don't have any contacts.

Booth, not trying to jump the gun on Chris but do you have the latest version (v2.0c)? It looks very similar to my issue here which was an issue with php5.4 and was fixed only in 2.0c

Beaten anyway :) Nothing to see here, move along ...

Thank you.

These are actually slightly different errors. I have been able to replicate them all too.

Booth - do you have any Yahoo contacts? I think that maybe the issue here too!

When I have no Google contacts I get a friendly error:

I have Yahoo contacts and Twitter followers too. I'm using the version that was made available today when I purchased it.

With Google I'm getting the friendly error as I don't have any contacts on there.

Hi Sir, just one small thing if you can add; when we select manual way to send email, after the email is sent, there should be some indicator to confirm that the email have been sent successfully so that we don't end up sending duplicate invites. Hope I have been to communicate my requirement to you.

Thanks,

There is already a visual indication that it is sent successfully:

I agree Sir and thanks for such quick reply. But this confirmation is just a flash and goes off immediately. If you are doing multiple things you really don't the message that appeared on the screen. I may be sounding silly but this is what i experienced. Thanks,

This behaviour is consistent with other aspects of XenForo. I don't have any plans to change it at this time.

Chris, I think we had chatted about this - but can there be a way where we create an account for the person we are inviting and just send them a 'link' to activate? Once the user activates their account - they can choose their username, password. I think that'd just be awesome!

Chris could you update these phrases:

A bug maybe; The friend inviter page welcomes you with an error if you haven't set your Yahoo api:

ErrorException: Undefined variable: yahooEnabled - library/FriendInviter/Listener.php:121

There isn't an option to turn it off in the settings page. I couldn't get the Yahoo inviter to work after I set a Yahoo app up. Getting this error:

There has been a problem communicating with Yahoo.

Yeah my dev copy has that fixed already. I noticed it yesterday.

Thanks for pointing that out (and the phrases).

No.

Friend Inviter now uses the Facebook Send dialog to send messages in private to another friend's inbox.

Who said that?
