Forum Promotion: Best Webmaster, Admin, & Internet Marketing Forum

Anyways, I'd love to hear feedback from the XenForo community regarding our forum.
Since you asked - I had a look and was a bit confused as I started off looking on my phone and the layout was not totally clear to me.

After landing on the home page, nothing immediately told me it was a forum, or about the forums. There were preview boxes which led to articles (e.g. https://forumpromotion.net/other/reasonable-expectations-for-starting-any-project) but after clicking on that I get an article but still no way to know about forums.

The article page has a rather crptic breadcrumb that doesn't help me know where I am in the site architecture

As I got to the site from the link here, I already know there must be a forum somewhere, but someone woithout that knowledge may be even more in the dark.

Anyway, knowqing there must be more I click on the navigation hamburger and then on forums. List of latest posts at the top which look a bit squished, but that is OK given that it's probably useful not to take up too much space before you get to the forum list.

But that was then another useability problem (notwithstanding the huge horizontal scrollbar) because the first item in the list is called Forum Redirect Auction and that title seems baffling.

Following that there are three actual forums in the list. So far so good but that is then followed by a whole load of preview boxes under the heading Community Spotlight. I presume that is the end of the forum list, maybe a footer but certainly my impression was there are only three forums in the list.

I did then scroll past all the preview boxes and so luckily I find that there are a lot more forums, but I almost gave up and only continued looking because I'd read the repsonses here so I knew there must be more.

So my advice would be to do a useability audit.

NB: I had another look round and it seems the breadcrumbs never show the actual hierarchy which is exremely confusing when you rely on this very often when using mobile and don't have instant access to the top level. The breadcrumb seems to only show the "parent" one level higher

EDIT: and before anyone looks at my forum and has similar criticisms, I'm sure there are.

Hi guys,

Have you heard about Forum Promotion? We've been around since 2007, but it seems like there's still plenty of individuals that don't know of our existence. Our tagline these days is "Best Webmaster, Admin, & Internet Marketing Forum," as you can see in the title of this topic. In general, we've typically always been known as a pioneer as far as promotion forums are concerned. We were on phpBB for a very long time, but we have now been on XenForo for the last couple of years. We're still currently on XF1, but we're in the process of figuring out how to get to XF2. We've got a number of custom features, so it won't be the simplest process in the world.

If you're looking to promote your XenForo forum somewhere, I'd encourage you to check out Forum Promotion. We've always been focused on providing individuals with the perfect platform to share their communities with each other. We have a number of services that we offer, whether that's posting packages, website reviews, or different types of advertising opportunities. We also regularly have different contests and competitions, including our Community of the Month competition (monthly), and our Site Battle Madness competition (annually).

Anyways, I'd love to hear feedback from the XenForo community regarding our forum. As far as individuals reading this topic, I'd love to know if you are already familiar with us? Is "Forum Promotion" a completely new thing to you? Or are you a registered member that has become inactive? If you are, how can we get you back on our forum? Thanks, and I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Regards,
Cameron
A really poor experience, personally. https://bizdustry.com/threads/forumpromotion-net-review-for-webmasters.13724/

This just looks like trashing a competitor/site you had a falling out with in the form of a review? Like... It's not a good luck, and shows a distinct level of immaturity that you're posting it directly in their thread here.
Hardly a competitor. It's really not a trash topic, it also contains other important feedback that is not connected with the incident relating to my account suspension. Please read the 2000 words before making such comments.

That is exactly what is going on, and I greatly appreciate you pointing that out. :)

The user above is disgruntled and looking to stir the pot anyway he can. We'll try our best to ignore it and move on.

The review was not intended to express the views of Bizdustry. The review and walkthrough was for the sole purpose of reviewing the service and providing constructive criticism, besides my personal experiences.

I believe you should start new thread regarding review or any issues you had with them, posting here on their showcase thread you trying to denigrate their reputation, which obviously not professional from a web master. But that's my opinion @Alexander. , nothing against to anyone.

You have a valid point of view, perhaps it would have been better in a separate topic as Cameron might not take the review the wrong way. Still, I have mentioned some valid points in my review which are not related to my experience. Both positive and negative

If he doesn’t want to address my situation publicly or privately, that’s his decision. However, he should comment on the other weaknesses and strengths pointed out in the review. Member feedback is crucial for a forum succeeding.

Be a great site if it focused more on things other than kiddo crap.
Philip, I value and respect your point of view about Forum Promotion. However, you should go into further details so the issue can be addressed by Cameron.

With all due respect to everyone, this discussion is getting a little silly now. There’s no need to throw insults at each other and nobody is right or wrong. There are two sides to a story and to be honest, it’s not worth having a school fight about.

The best advice I can give you Cameron and everyone reading this for that matter is to move on. listen to other members and you’ll go far.

Before I start writing this post, I don't think it is appropriate to forward unsolicited spam to your members on Forum Promotion. Please take a look at the screenshots and speak to Cumulus about his use of the email system. Several emails were sent. @Forum Promotion

I kindly request that the website owner please looks into this and why his staff members are sending me unwanted emails to my RoundCube email address.

Very disappointed in Forum Promotion.

Just forwarded along all emails I received that were signed up to from your IP address. Thought maybe your browser autofilled the wrong email and you might need them! 😊

It's a shame to see this thread derailed, because we have some great opportunities currently ongoing at ForumPromotion:
  • Community of the Month Competiton - why not familiarise yourself with our monthly competition by voting, and consider entering your site next month!
  • Contribute to our blog - gain a high DA backlink, expert guidance and share your top tips/expertise with other Xenforo webmasters
  • Participate in Site Battles - and potentially be crowned winner with FP$ and reputation rewards
  • Redeem FP$ - for posting packages, auctions and more to gain more content and exposure for your community

If you haven't joined already, consider doing so and ping me a private message there. For the next five to join and let me know, I'll send you 150FP$ - enough for your first Garnet Package or enough to get you rolling on our marketplace :)

We've faced a number of challenges over these last couple of months, but we are online and thriving. We've developed a new homepage, and we've got an eCommerce platform on the way. You'll be able to buy FP swag, whether that means a t-shirt, coffee mug, etc.

In the past few months, we've implemented a couple new services. For one, we are now offering Weekly Activity Packages, which is a specialized offering of our package service. For two, we've created our @FP Service, which is just where we'll celebrate websites being advertised on FP thru or social media, including our Facebook page, Twitter account, and Instagram feed.

We've also recently introduced a significant improvement to our Website Battles. Members can now see their number of website battle wins within their profiles. Here's an example of what that looks like:

This has really inspired competition between our users. :)

I'm a long time member over at Forum Promotion since 2010. I'm not very active but I always liked Forum Promotion. Very cool bunch of people. The forum looks great too.
