You have it backwards. Fora is the plural of forum (in Latin), but forums is actually the widely accepted plural form in English (probably born out of ignorance of the word's Latin origin).
But yeah, I've always found it odd when people use the plural form but only have one actual forum, and given it can actually describe a place where multiple topics are discussed. All that matters little, though.
If you are going to the cake forum, then you are going to one site, but if you are
looking up several cake forums then you are referring several forums....
