Forced to change email due to bounces, but emails were all being received.

I received a notification inside the XenForo forum (here) which said my emails were essentially bouncing, and so I have to change my email address. The thing is, I have been receiving them all along - never going to spam, either - and all I did is use the same email address with a + designation, and the confirmation all came through, and I am still receiving emails.

I use gmail.

I feel as though the bounce handler must be incorrectly applying bounces?

This isn't actually a XenForo bug. Our mail server is receiving hard fails from Google, though it appears as though Google is deciding to deliver them nonetheless.

There is a slight DNS configuration issue on our side which I am in the process of rectifying today so this shouldn't happen and should satisfy some of (what I believe to be) Google's new requirements for email senders.

@Chris D this got moved from bugs to "other" but I am reporting a seeming bug in xenforos own install. My email address is gmail and is not bouncing, yet this occurs.

Just saw your reply before I added mine. All good, let me know if there is anything we can do to help test.

You will have now received the email that caused the problem as I just manually re-sent it. It seems we've rectified the issue.
