Food Fantasia

Nigella Kitchen was on BBC2 tonight and she made the spaghetti and marmite!

I recently got her new book "Kitchen: Recipes From The Heart Of The Home" - it's a very chunky one compared to her usual books... I still haven't finished reading it! (Flicked through all the pretty pictures already though :cool:)

Nigella has got rather chunky herself recently, I blame all those late night raids on the left overs.

Jethro.. shame on you, who cares? I'd rather see a Chunky Gorgeous Goddess than Scrawny Stupid Skank ala most of the so called "celebrities" these days ;)

We decided on a roast Veggie, Feta and Lemon Thyme Pizza last night, it was really delicious!

Tonight we had a very very delicious Mushroom Risotto.. mmmmmm I haven't made a risotto for ages, it was really good, I know it doesn't look very pretty, but oh sooo yummy if you like the Fungi :p

I used fresh Shitake, King Brown and Field Mushrooms, herbs, red wine, veggie stock... yummy! I had forgotten how much I love this dish!

I LOVE mushroom risotto! Mmmm... yours looks amazing! Mike doesn't like mushrooms so when I make risotto, I tend to do it with chicken and butternut squash. When I don't have fresh ingredients but I feel like risotto, I make one with sausages (if we have some stashed in the freezer), frozen peas and canned corn. It's quite satisfying too!

It looks like a good risotto you made there Dragonfly! :) (though I'm definitely not a fungi fan myself hahaha!)

Me too!!! :D When we lived in the city, a few years ago, we used to go to this fabulous little bistro on a park in the city just for their Mushroom Risotto! Thanks! It was really yummy I was very happy with how this one turned out :)

I have done a Chicken and pumpkin one, sounds very similar to the one you do :D Risotto is so very versatile and relatively quick and easy, just a bit of a pain standing stirring and watching, but if you have someone to talk to it is a very sociable dish!

I quite enjoy the stirring and watching - but then I like having my own space to cook haha!
 
Well just when you think it's going to be a boring old Bangers and Mash kinda night... it turns out to be a dynamite hot Vietnamese Black Funghi Asparagus and Ginger Chilli Chicken Stir Fry!

Very Exotic and delicious I must say ;)
