I've been using Facebook pages as a part of my marketing efforts for my forums. I have about half of my portfolio on XF now, the other half still on vBulletin. When I try to take a thread and post it onto Facebook, the vBulletin threads give me a selection of all the images and avatars in the thread to use as the thumbnail for the Facebook post, Xenforo doesn't. Something about the way XF handles the images is making them inaccessible to the posts on Facebook pages. It might not sound like that big of a deal, but in the place where an eye-catching thumbnail should be, all I get is "

    This isn't a bug.

Currently the only options when posting a link to Facebook are the site logo or thread author's avatar.

If you aren't getting either of those options then you need to check for outdated templates.
You can aso run the linter to test your settings: http://developers.facebook.com/tools/lint/

I had asked a similar question before. Mike posted a template modification which allows you to choose images releated to the thread that is been posted to facebook : http://xenforo.com/community/thread...k-cant-show-thread-images-as-thumbnail.12139/

Maybe you didn't understand what I meant? I will provide examples.

    My CoinTalk.com Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/cointalk
I will post now to my Facebook page a link to the following thread: http://www.cointalk.com/t189545/
    CoinTalk.com is on vBulletin
Facebook can access any image in that thread for me to choose as a thumbnail.

    My StampExchange Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/stampexchange
I will post now to my Facebook page a link to the following thread: http://www.stampexchange.com/threads/laos-and-south-vietnam.8/
    StampExchange.com is on XenForo
Facebook cannot access any of the images in that thread.

    It's not about the logos.

As I said above, this is an issue with your installation as the feature works here on XenForo.com and other sites.

    For example.

Which version of software are you running?
Are there any outdated or edited templates?
What results does the linter give?
Has the site ever been blocked using .htaccess, when you were setting it up?

Lint shows me this for all of my sites (doesn't show this when I check xenforo.com)

    Required Property Missingog:title is required
    Required Property Missingog:type is required
    Required Property Missingog:url is required
    Required Property Missingog:image is required

Is this what is causing the problem for me?

You can include multiple og:image tags, I made the change for Kier a few months ago. Not sure what he ended up doing with it though.

strange that thread-links submitted to FB at "Recent Activities > Facebook Recommendations" are not updating the custom og-logo.
I have one link of my Homepage-URL being submitted to FB at "Recent Activities > Facebook Recommendations" showing my custom og-logo and another link of a Forum-thread submitted to FB showing the XF-default og-logo.

Not sure why Homepage-link is updated showing the custom og-logo and the Thread-link still shows the default XF og-logo ?

As has been brought up several times now, they are cached. It should update eventually.

This is driving me nuts. I can't get rid of the xenforo default logo for this.
