XF 1.5 Emails Don't send (google SMTP server)

Hello, Using xenforo and trying to send emails from the site. Email Verification doesn't send or work and we get the error log for connection timed out to the gmail smtp server we are using.

Start with the basics.. are you sure your host allows outbound SMTP connections (and that they don't block the ports)?
Have you tried manually logging in that account you use to make sure that there are no errors during log in (like wanting additional authentication info)?
