Can't fix Drag & Drop / image does not embed

certain images do not embed via Drag & Drop.

Is this related to the website the image is hosted on ?


Example:

Seems strange that an image from Wikimedia.org does not display...... ?

Are you trying to drag a picture straight from Google images? It worked for me (Chrome).

You might want to rephrase that to "I can (not) reproduce this bug" because now we don't know what you mean exactly

This may be related to the other bug report as well (where the images were most likely submitted with the data URI, which we explicitly ignore).

Indeed, it's the data URI thing (which, interestingly, is actually how Google shows the images). Unlikely that we can do too much about this, except for maybe removing the image so it doesn't show in the editor, though I don't think that's what the original report was about.

generally speaking: is there a way around "URI" ?
I mean: is there any alternative to using "URI" ?

No, it's done by the browser either by choice or because of what you're dragging in.
