DownloadsII

We switched last week. Couldn't wait any longer on the promised scripts. Caused a lot of hassle in our community.

Anybody has a working alternative? Did you find a way to port your mods in some form to Xenforo?

We arent using it anymore. We will temporary open up the old forum on our old server to let all our members download their favorite mods and then (fingers crossed) wait for the XF Resource Manager and start from scratch.

It was a long internal debate but eventually the benefits of xenforo (compared to vbulletin) won over staying at vb with downloadsII

I wonder if you would be able to run the Downloads II in the Kotomi bridge.
Probably not.

So using this addon you can do a very basic integration of pretty much anything into XenForo - be it a blog, gallery, store, standalone script, etc. Probably even vBulletin if you wanted :p

.... and then (fingers crossed) wait for the XF Resource Manager and start from scratch.

FYI: the RM is for xenforo.com only (hopefully soon), but for distribution it might be years (or longer - absolutely no timeline) before it would be ready for other sites.

You must be kidding? So all this time we have put our hope in the resource manager and it will only be available for xenforo.com? If thats the case we really need to reconsider something else as this was one of the reasons to migrate to xenforo for us.

To be fair, right from the beginning ... xF said it would only be using it for their site and would take considerable work down the road to make into a xF Addon.

Big shame, then I must have read it wrong. But this will have a huge impact on the future of our forums. Do you know an alternative that we can use that will do the same? Paid or unpaid?

Spoke to RSJelle as well and he is in his final year of university and will not have any time to program for xf.

What nonsense.

It would already be an add-on so no additional work would be required to make it into an add-on.

Here is what was actually said, no mention of years to release it or considerable work required:
While we will run the resource manager on XenForo.com alone initially, as it matures we will offer it as an add-on product to our customers.

There is *zero* timeline for the release.
Bram thought it would be released as soon as Xenforo.com gets it.

Bram: it seems that no additional work will be required to get it ready. Hopefully xF does the "no work" to fulfill your wish.

You missed the important word.

*might*
will
definitely going to be

Now that you mention "Zero work will be required" .. hopefully a timeline will be given for the zero work.
