I like changing my avatar. I simply pay more attention to the usernames now.

The reason I change my avatar is to confuse the moderators, that way they can't follow me as close !!

This way I can be the 'undercover forum poster' !!

That might be the case if it wasn't for the user-markup we can apply to those members we want to keep an eye on, which is visible to moderators only

I only changed mine at Christmas cause I wanted to, typically I don't change mine. I've had this one or a variation of this one for over 5 years now. It's my logo avatar on my site and it goes where I go, she is in varying sizes from 40 x 40 to 250 x 250 and one is animated:
