[DBTech] DragonByte Social Groups

[DBTech] DragonByte Social Groups [Paid] 2.2.3

No permission to buy (€19.95)
@DragonByte Tech - I'm a new customer and love this group app so far. Excellent work! :)

I do have one question. Is there a way to restrict which user groups can create "hidden" social groups?

It seems my users all want their groups "hidden," which makes the section look abandoned to people who aren't members of the hidden groups. This in turn discourages other members from creating groups or posting. I'd like to grandfather in the current hidden groups, but make it a perk of paid accounts moving forward.

Edit - Never mind, I just found this under user group permissions.

@DragonByte Tech - I have another question for you. I created a new group and marked the social group privacy as private. With this setting, I would expect the group to appear in the social group listing but require membership to access the contents.

Currently, it's behaving as a hidden group and not shown in the listing. I've checked on multiple accounts and had members also check for me. None of them can see the group.

Is this expected behavior? If not, do you have any idea what could be causing it?

Also, can you please tell me if there's a way to add the site breadcrumb to social groups for consistency?

This is likely going to require a lot of back and forth to find out the cause, so can you please post if @ my site in the support section? It’s much more difficult to use XF.com resource threads for support.

Thanks!

DragonByte Tech updated [DBTech] DragonByte Social Groups with a new update entry:

Update highlights

This version adds a convenience feature; there will now be a "Start discussion" button on the group overview page, which will prompt members for what section they wish to post their discussion in.

Furthermore, a few issues have been resolved, including some important fixes for the [OzzModz] Social Groups importer. Please see the full change log for the details.

I've been out of the loop for a bit, but am back around and wanted to check if a calendar option as been included with groups now, so that groups can have their own event calendars, etc??

Thanks!

That's fine as I have been using that from it's inception and is currently the most popular calendar.

@Alpha1 @Chernabog quick question, would there be a need for a group to have multiple calendars?

Multiple calendars might help separate f.ex. member created events from group staff created events, but it would also complicate the UI by quite a lot.

I've only seen an interest/need for a group to have one, private, calendar for that group to use. I can't see any need for multiple calendars per group.

@DragonByte Tech

Could you explain what this does or how it's properly setup? I thought it was going to list the current groups in the category (ideally in grid view) but all I'm seeing is the category title.

That node shows all the groups the current user is a member of, in list view similar to forum nodes.

It’s intended to be a top level node, I’m not sure if it works if you put it inside a category or as a sub-node.

It's listed as a category, not inside a category. But the view looks like this:

There are no groups being shown.

This is how it looks like from the ACP:

So I'm unsure, if I'm doing it right, or something is missing?

It creates. category in your nodes list and will display all of your groups below. Like this.
