[cXF] Remove Location, Website and About you field 1.4.4

In addition it would be great to have an explanation of how the permissions work. What actions do yes, no and never actually take?

In that case, the Location field will be removed, but the other two will still be visible. If set to Yes, the field is removed.

It should work for "user level". Set it to Yes for the Registered user group, then for the other user groups (when users get promoted) set it to No so the field will show to them.

Thank you. This makes sense and is what I thought. However, in my case, nothing changes, the field is always visible to that group no matter how it is set.

Maybe there is a template conflict with some other add-on. Check template modification for this add-on. All numbers greater than 0 should be green.

I've found the problem. But before I tell you what it was, here is what is shown for a user that I registered as a test in the normal fashion:



But that user still sees this:



The problem, at least in my case, is that when the add-on was installed, the unregistered/unconfirmed usergroup is set to NO for the three options. This appears to override the YES setting for higher usergroups (for example, registered but not promoted to anything, yet). The solution was to set unregistered/unconfirmed permissions to YES, and then unset to NO for higher usergroups that qualify.

I do not understand, however, why the analyzer says YES, when in fact as shown in the above screen shots, the usergroup shows YES when it is in fact, NO and the user can still see and edit the field. But at any rate, I now have the results I need. Thank you!

Well, another complication. When enabled, there's a new artifact. In threads, where the user avatar and title are, there's a link below their title that says "visit site." The link contained within the text points to the URL of the thread. Disable the add-on, and it goes away.

It is there when this add-on is active, and not there when deactivated.

I have the website field disabled for new users. Only About You and Location are enabled. In this view, I am looking at a thread with full privileges and all three enabled. It does seem odd, doesn't it?
