I get hit by this error once I save my country field. It has 100+ choices, so I guess that is the cause?

I don't know why the process is timing out. Is there anything in the error log?

Admin CP -> Tools -> Server Error Log

You can edit the files to increase the timeout that is responsible for the immediate error:

This might work assuming no other limits or timeouts.

There are none errors in the server log. This happens on my localhost install, I didn't test it on a real server..

I have sped this (and some other similar operations up significantly) by deferring a language cache rebuild and disabling another type of rebuild that isn't needed.
