XF 1.2 Custom profile fields for specific group?

I was wondering if we will have the ability to define custom profile fields for users belonging to a specific group. For example, I create a promoted group (i.e. Vendors) and the user will be able to add into his profile the vendor address and other additional info a regular group does not have.

In the default system, no, this isn't possible. If you'd like to accomplish this, you can surround the custom field HTML in the template with conditionals to semi-achieve this.
