Current resource version page

I'm looking for an addon (or a lot of pointers on how to go about it) that would be able to output the current resource version when using version appended to a resource URL such as http://xenforo.com/community/resources/bd-mails.2313/version. The output would be purely the current version_string, nothing more (ex. 0.9.2b).
