Current License for New Forum

Is it possible to use a current license that I have on a new domain name that has basic auth for me to build out the nodes/style and then purchase the same license for that domain when I want to make it live?

I know you can for the same domain/forum, but unsure for a different domain/forum, even if it's blocked off.

But if I can't run it off a different domain, I suppose I can have a subdomain that bypasses it? It would be easier to just let the other domain work though.
