I just noticed that a user submitted a new thread which belongs in the Featured Threads list. As of this writing he submitted the thread less than an hour ago and it is expired already. And another thread which was submitted on Saturday is already expired.

Yes, I checked the duration for featured threads is 1 weeks.

Very strange. Any ideas?

Maybe the user unfeatured the threads?

What do you have set for maximum featured threads?

The oldest one will be automatically unfeatured as new ones are featured.

OK. This may be it. I recently moved 34 threads from one forum to another. After doing this I noticed these 34 threads were featured (I don't know why). I unfeatured all 34.

Moving threads into a forum for which automatic featuring is enabled will feature them.

It's essentially the same as creating a new thread in the forum.

Hi there. I have a user who posted an original video embedded from youtube. When I feature this, the preview just shows [MEDIA] or something like that. Is there a way to take a capture of the image in the first post and use that as the preview? Thanks.

Presumably you have selected the option to strip bb code when featuring.
If so, that is expected.

You can retain bb code, which would embed the video as in the post.

There isn't an option though to display an image in place of the embedded video.

Oh, when clicking on the embedded vid in the featured work block, the user gets taken to youtube. Is there a way to direct the user to the thread instead?

That is controlled by YouTube and not something which can be changed.

I think the previous one is good but this one has more features and I like the rotation of the featured threads everywhere to get users interact with all kind of threads.

Hey @Brogan, I have 3 questions, first for some reason I can't see the slider buttons (next and previous) but I can see the pager button, second how can I make the slider ignore permissions, I want to use it as advertisement for the content of some forums, also is there away to add threads in the slider without adding them to the homepage/featured cycle?

I suspect you haven't uploaded the images to the style directory.
You need to add them to each custom style directory you have.

That's not possible - all featured thread content respects the original forum and thread permissions (it would be a bug if it didn't).

Yes, you can choose to not display the block, like so:
