I know that @Brogan does not like a "grid layout" or "Masonry endless scrolling", but I have experienced a lot of user-signups when using a grid-layout like www.xenzine.com compared to the default "Forum Homepage", which was just a dead Forum and no user sign-ups at all.

Funny, but a nicely designed grid-layout at the Homepage works wonders......


I am planning to uninstall the "XenZine"-Addon and move over to the "CTA Featured Threads"-Addon.

Thanks for the Edits Brogan.. I think i finally have this gem all polished up and might take a cpl days off from tinkering with it.. I have to say though that there are so many options its very difficult to leave alone..

hmmm the message box is empty for me. I'm also having trouble with the automatic featuring. I have extremely low requirements, likes enjored and then run the cron but no threads get featured.

Reuploaded everything and reinstalled and still the same. I ran the cron and the Rebuild CTA Featured Threads, but still nothing. I choose all threads in a forum. Still nothing. I'm using default skin and no other addons.

As the description text states:

The 'All Threads' option applies to new threads and any existing threads which are approved, undeleted or moved.

If you want existing threads to be featured, use the other criteria option.

ok it appears to be working now. I just want to be clear of what I need to do after I change the criteria? Do I need to run that cron?

The cron for the likes/replies/views criteria runs automatically every hour.

For the all threads option, new threads are featured automatically immediately.

hmmm my thread icon size is not taking affect. I have it set for 100x100. Save. Feature a new thread manually, in the box it says 100x100. I upload the icon. But in feature item view it blows back to 192x192.

Have you also changed the corresponding Style Properties, as it states?

[If the width and height values are changed, the corresponding Style Property values (ctaFtIcon and ctaFtIconPage) should also be changed to match.
